A note from Kelly Cooke, Owner of Terrapin Tours

First and foremost, THANK YOU for visiting the Terrapin Tours website.

I'd like to share with you more about Terrapin Tours and our philosophy on traveling together and what makes us different than other companies. You can also learn more by visiting our "Why Choose Terrapin Tours" page.

Starting this company has been a dream of mine for years and my wish is that everyone who travels with me can share in the fun, laughter, excitement and adventure of going to new places and meeting new friends.

I also like to stress that traveling in a group really is about the journey - rather than running from one place to another in a herded mass, we like to take the "Stop and Smell the Roses" approach to travel. Taking time to enjoy the destination AND enjoying the journey with your fellow passengers is all part of the experience.

My love of travel started when I was in high school and I went to Europe for the first time. Although the entire three week trip was amazing, the most incredible part of the journey was visiting the Berlin Wall a few short months after it was torn down. Seeing the Wall and the city of Berlin at that time was a life changing moment and I believe it is when I realized that I had been bitten by the travel bug.

Working as a travel agent and tour director early in my career gave me the opportunity to travel as part of my work (it was not a bad perk of the job!). I took a break from the travel industry for a few years and worked in marketing, but I always knew that my heart was in travel and that someday I would return to it. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to operate Terrapin Tours and I hope that I can share my love for travel with you.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have traveled to many places and to have shared the experiences with friends and family. Some people have asked what my favorite vacation or trip has been - to answer that question is impossible. Each journey is different - not only because of the destination - but because of the people I have met, the friends I have made, and the things that I have learned from each experience.
